Experiencing Art
Crestview Public Library gives patrons plenty of art to admire, but it also provides opportunities for more in-depth appreciation.
A June 2014 multimedia presentation entitled Art, Literature, and Music in Times of War, presented by art historian Marie-Claude Tildach-Bohler, discussed a number of important art works, such as the Bayeux Tapestry.
Remarkable for its artistry and excellent state of preservation, the 11th-century tapestry, which hangs in a museum in France, depicts William the Conqueror's invasion of England, including the Battle of Hastings. Lecture attendees got the chance to learn about an amazing piece of European art history right in their home town.
