Florida Division of Emergency Management  Updates relating to Hurricane Helene

Voter Registration. The deadline to register is October 7, 2024. Visit our webpage on voter registration.  

Voting.  Florida law allows for 3 options to vote:

  1. Voting by mail.  Vote-by-mail requests are not processed at the state level but by the county supervisor of elections in your county of registration:

  • Visit this webpage to track online the status of your request for a vote-by-mail ballot or to request a vote-by-mail ballot.
  • Visit this webpage for specific information for absent stateside military or an overseas military or civilian citizen.
  • Visit this webpage for specific information about accessible voting for persons with disabilities, including voting by mail.

If you have to make a change regarding where your ballot is to be delivered due to the Hurricane’s impact, please contact your county supervisor of elections’ office as soon as possible. 

The deadline to ask for a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed for the 2024 General Election is October 24, 2024. Ballots requested for pickup within 10 days of the election require a special emergency affidavit.

  1. Early voting. The 8-day mandatory period for early voting period for the 2024 General Election is from October 26 – November 2, 2024. Visit our webpage on Early Voting for more information. Additional optional days may be offered by your county. Contact your county supervisor of elections’ office. A registered voter may vote at any designated early voting site in his or her county.
  1. Election Day. Election Day for the General Election is November 5, 2024. To vote on election day at the polls, you must vote at your assigned precinct. The information is available on your voter information card. However, for up to date information, visit your county supervisor of elections’ website or select the link for your specific county on our webpage for Voter Precinct Lookup.  

Hurricane Ian – 2022
