Special Elections

Pursuant to section 100.101, Fla. Stat., a special election shall be held:
- If no person has been elected at a general election to fill an office which was required to be filled by election at such general election.
- If a vacancy occurs in the office of state senator or member of the state house of representatives.
- If it is necessary to elect presidential electors, by reason of the offices of President and Vice President both having become vacant.
- If a vacancy occurs in the office of member from Florida of the House of Representatives of Congress.

US House of Representatives - District 1
This special election consists of the following counties: Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and a part of Walton.

- Special Primary Election – Key Dates:
- Deadline to register: December 30, 2024
- Deadline to request vote-by-mail ballot be mailed: January 16, 2025
- Mandatory early voting period: January 18-25, 2025

- Special Election – Key Dates:
- Deadline to register: March 3, 2025
- Deadline to request vote-by-mail ballot be mailed: March 20, 2025

This special election consists of the following counties: Flagler, Putnam, and parts of Lake, Marion, St. Johns, and Volusia.
