Secretary of State Ken Detzner, in collaboration with the St. Augustine 450th Commemoration Commission, will be hosting a Viva Florida 500 Statewide Summit on Monday, October 1, 2012.

The summit’s morning session will feature Secretary of State Ken Detzner, federally appointed commissioners from St. Augustine’s 450th Commemoration Commission, including the Mayor of St. Augustine, civil rights leader and former UN Ambassador Andrew Young as well as esteemed historian Dr. Michael Gannon. International and state leadership will also present on the unique opportunities during the commemorative years to strengthen tourism, stimulate economic development and educate the world about the state’s significant role in American history. The afternoon session will focus on resources to assist organizations in the development and marketing of Viva Florida 500 events and activities.
