Division of Elections Announces Absentee Ballot Mailing Dates

Tallahassee –

Secretary of State Ken Detzner released the following statement prior to Supervisors of Elections mailing absentee ballots for the primary election on August 26, 2014:

“Tomorrow marks the mailing date of absentee ballots to absent uniformed services members and overseas citizens for the primary,” said Secretary of State Ken Detzner. “Absentee ballots are required by law to be sent to absent uniformed services members and overseas citizens no later than 45 days before the primary. Supervisors of Elections will be sending ballots for domestic voters who have previously requested absentee ballots during a seven-day window from July 22 through July 29.

As Florida’s Chief Election Officer, I am committed to continuing to provide access to all eligible voters.”

To request an absentee ballot, or for questions about an absentee ballot, contact your local Supervisor of Elections. A voter can track the status of his or her own absentee ballot using the Voter Information Lookup.
