Qualifying Period Deadline Approaching

TALLAHASSEE –

Secretary of State Ken Detzner released the following statement regarding the upcoming qualifying deadline approaching for Governor and Cabinet, State Senator, State Representative, and multi-county Special District candidates from noon, June 16, 2014 to noon, June 20, 2014. Qualifying papers will be accepted beginning today, Monday, June 2, 2014, pursuant to Section 99.061(8), F.S.

“I encourage candidates who plan on running for office to file early,” said Secretary of State Ken Detzner. “Information about qualifying for statewide and multi-county special district candidates is available on the Division of Elections’ website and the Division’s staff is here to help.”

The Division of Elections website will be updated as qualifying paperwork is received for statewide and multi-county candidates. Final information will be available on the afternoon of June 20. For more information on qualifying, click here.
