Secretary of State Ken Detzner to Launch Florida Historic Golf Trail
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of State welcomes dignitaries, media and interested residents to the launch of the Florida Historic Golf Trail program at Winter Park Country Club in Winter Park, Florida. The Florida Historic Golf Trail celebrates Florida’s early golf heritage from the 1890s through World War II, by featuring publicly accessible golf courses that can still be played on today.
Florida’s Secretary of State Ken Detzner, Winter Park Mayor Kenneth Bradley, and Florida’s State Historic Preservation Officer Robert F. Bendus will be among the dignitaries to address the media. During the Press Conference, the Florida Department of State will premiere a 60 second commercial produced in collaboration with VISIT FLORIDA featuring golf legend Arnold Palmer.

The timing of this launch coincides with the Winter Park Country Club's Centennial Celebration. The city invites the community to the year-long celebration's kick-off event from 7 to 9 a.m. A live broadcast by the Golf Channel on their Morning Drive™ show will feature the unveiling of a centennial clock which has been graciously donated by the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation.
