Todah Menorah Memorial Exhibit at the Gallery for Innovation and the Arts

TALLAHASSEE –

The Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, is pleased to announce the opening of a new special exhibit in the Gallery for Innovation and the Arts, Todah Menorah Memorial. The temporary exhibit will be on display through April 19, 2015 in downtown Tallahassee at the R.A. Gray building. Two U.S. Veterans, Philip Berkowitz and Gene Sweeney, created the Todah Menorah Memorial to honor the American, British, and Russian soldiers who liberated individuals from concentration camps from 1944-1945. The event is part of Victory Florida, a statewide campaign to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the ending of World War II.

“We are delighted to host the Memorial in the Gallery for Innovation and the Arts,” said Secretary of State Ken Detzner. “These sculptures are a beautiful way to pay tribute to the WWII Allied troops who helped save and liberate Jewish captives, and others, from concentration camps.”
