Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee Invites the Public to Visit Museums in Florida During Fourth Annual March of Museums
Tallahassee, Fla. –
Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee invites the public to visit museums in Florida during the fourth annual March of Museums. March of Museums is a statewide initiative led by the Florida Department of State throughout the month of March that celebrates the diversity of Florida’s museums and the many benefits they provide to local communities.
“The March of Museums initiative offers museums the opportunity to connect with their communities to encourage cultural tourism and promote historic preservation,” said Florida Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee. “As Florida’s Chief Cultural Officer, I’m proud to see the variety of museums participating in this year’s initiative. With such a diverse array, both residents and visitors to Florida can easily find a nearby museum that sparks their interest.”
The department is hosting MarchofMuseums.com, which offers a listing and map of museums by region, highlights the mission or collections of each institution, and offers a calendar of events taking place during the month of March. Visitors are encouraged to use #MarchofMuseums to share pictures from their museum visits on social media.
