Winners of Florida Main Street’s 2021 Secretary of State Awards Announced

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —  Last night, the winners of this year’s Secretary of State Awards were announced during the Preservation on Main Street Conference in New Port Richey, Florida. The annual awards program recognizes the innovative projects, people, organizations, and businesses in Florida’s Main Street communities.

“I am happy to announce and celebrate this year’s award recipients,” said Secretary Lee. “These Main Street organizations continue to work towards their goal of community revitalization in Florida’s historic commercial corridors and I am continuously impressed by their dedication and commitment to their local community. Thank you for all you do.”

Twenty-two awards were presented in total. This year’s award recipients are:

Outstanding Local Program Supporter
Honor: Wendy Adams, Havana Main Street
Merit: George and Mary Beth Cooper, Okeechobee Main Street

Outstanding Fundraising or Membership Development Effort
Honor: Virtual Auction, The Milk District (Orlando Main Streets)
Merit: Holidays Repurposed, Havana Main Street

Outstanding Public/Private Partnership
Honor: Hernando County Government and Brooksville Main Street, Brooksville Main Street

Merit: City of Crestview and Main Street Crestview Association, Main Street Crestview Association; and Downtown Flagler Park Renovation Partnership, Okeechobee Main Street

Outstanding Public Improvement
Honor: Crystal River Town Square, Crystal River Main Street
Merit: Florida Mermaid Trail, Brooksville Main Street

Outstanding Sign/Display Project
Honor: Slice of Happiness Mural, Lake Wales Main Street
Merit: Crystal River Town Square Mural Project, Crystal River Main Street

Outstanding New Construction Project
Honor: Grand Central Brewhouse, Grand Central District Association

Outstanding Special Event
Honor: Picture Perfect Holidays, Curry Ford West (Orlando Main Streets)

Merit: Havana Quilt Show, Havana Main Street

Outstanding Image Campaign or Promotional Materials
Honor: Downtown Burger Tour, Ocala Main Street

Outstanding Retail Sales Promotion
Honor: Crystal River – Shop Local Holiday Challenge, Crystal River Main Street

Outstanding Economic Vitality Program or Project

Outstanding Business of the Year
