PRESS RELEASE: Secretary of State Cord Byrd Announces all Counties have Certified Returns in Advance of Statutory Deadline

Tallahassee, Fla. –

Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd is pleased to announce that all county canvassing boards have submitted to the Secretary of State their certified official county returns ahead of the November 20, 2022 deadline. 

"Florida's Supervisors of Elections have again shown how Florida leads the way in election administration," said Secretary of State Cord Byrd. "While other states are still awaiting results, Florida's Supervisors have completed their certifications early and results are ready to be certified by the Election Canvassing Commission on Tuesday."  

Each county will be conducting a post-election voting system audit pursuant to section 101.591, FS, unless a manual recount was already conducted in the county. These publicly noticed audits are open to the public. Please visit your county Supervisor of Elections’ website for more information.  

The Elections Canvassing Commission will certify the official results for federal, state, and multi county races on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, pursuant to section 102.111, FS. See meeting information below.

Division of Elections


The Florida Department of State’s Division of Elections supports the Secretary of State, Florida’s chief election officer, in ensuring that Florida has fair and accurate elections. The Division’s program administration and three bureaus: Bureau of Election Records, Bureau of Voter Registration Services, and Bureau of Voting Systems Certification, have several responsibilities in the areas of legal compliance and elections administration to ensure that Florida’s election laws are uniformly interpreted and implemented.
