Equipment
Effective October 1, 2024, the threshold for capitalized equipment was raised from $5,000 to $10,000. (Prior to July 1, 2020, the threshold was $1,000.) For equipment purchased in the past, the threshold in effect is the one in place at the time of purchase.
All equipment with a per item cost that is over the threshold amount must be tracked and inventoried.
Before a grant recipient purchases any equipment having a purchase price of more than $10,000 (per item), the Division must request approval from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The grant recipient will be notified once a decision is obtained.
