Effective July 1, 2020, the threshold for capitalized equipment was raised from $1,000 to $5,000. For equipment purchased before this date, the threshold remains at $1,000.
All equipment with a per item cost that is over the threshold amount must be tracked and inventoried.
Before a grant recipient purchases any equipment having a purchase price of more than $5,000 (per item), the Division must request approval from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The grant recipient will be notified once a decision is obtained.
