City Directories

City Directories on the shelf at the State Library of Florida

The State Library of Florida collects Florida city directories for on-site research and reference use. These directories can:

  • Provide invaluable information for conducting family history searches.
  • Identify years that a business operated at a certain location.
  • Help with other legal and historical research.

Our city directory holdings span more than a century, from the early 1900s to the present. They form an integral part of our Florida Collection

City directories are arranged alphabetically by city, and then chronologically by year within each city.
