22nd Floor Gallery Welcomes Calligraphy by HU Ching-san
The Development of Chinese Character Scripts on Exhibit February 1 – April 30, 2016
Secretary of State Ken Detzner today announced that the Department of State’s 22nd Floor Gallery in the State Capitol Building is hosting an exhibition of calligraphic works by Mr. HU Ching-san, Deputy Chief Curator of the Department of Rare Books of the National Palace Museum of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Mr. HU Ching-san has provided 16 types of calligraphic art that depict the development of Chinese characters. The exhibit is on display February 1 through April 30, 2016.
“We are delighted to host this important exhibit of calligraphic works by HU Ching-san from Taiwan,” said Secretary Detzner. “International cultural exchanges enrich the lives of Florida residents, improve the artistic qualities and capabilities of cultural organizations, and help build communities.”

The exhibit, entitled The Development of Chinese Character Scripts, is co-hosted by the State of Florida, the Chinese American Scholars and Professionals Association of Florida and the Florida Taiwan Business Association Foundation, Inc. The presentation of the exhibit is assisted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office TECO in Miami to further enhance cultural exchange between Florida and Taiwan.
