Mission San Luis Shares the Love

Tallahassee –

On Sunday, February 7, from Noon to 4 p.m. Mission San Luis invites the public and the media to the fourth annual Share the Love event. The event will feature a performance by Theater with a Mission (1:45 p.m.), Cupid's Archery School, free hot chocolate, a bake sale, scavenger hunts, site love stories, a photo booth and more.

“The Share the Love event at Mission San Luis is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved ones,” said Secretary of State Ken Detzner. “Come out to the living history museum to practice or learn archery, have a fun family portrait taken, enjoy a dramatization of a Native American bride and a Spanish soldier getting married in 1703, and other activities.”

Help Mission San Luis celebrate and share the love that its social media followers, members, volunteers and the community have shown. “Like” Mission San Luis on Facebook to get FREE admission to this event.

Mission San Luis, Florida’s Apalachee-Spanish Living History Museum, was the western capital of Spanish Florida from 1656 to 1704. Today, the Mission brings the 1700s to life with history interpreters in period dress, reconstructed period buildings, exhibits, and archaeological research. The site is managed by the Florida Department of State, Office of External Affairs, and support is provided by the Friends of Mission San Luis, Inc. Mission San Luis is Tallahassee’s only National Historic Landmark.

Mission San Luis is located at 2100 West Tennessee Street in Tallahassee, Florida, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors 65+, and $2 for ages 6-17. Children under 6, members, and active military get in FREE.
