The Museum of Florida History Hosts Racing under the Stars
Tallahassee –
On Saturday, July 2, 2016, the Museum of Florida History hosts Racing under the Stars, an evening of free fun, including games and a showing of the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca‑Cola race on a giant outdoor screen. The event is the “final lap” for the Museum’s exhibit, Sun, Sand and Speed–Florida Auto Racing, which closes on July 4. The event takes place from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
“We invite residents, visitors and auto racing enthusiasts to wear their driver’s colors and join us for this event celebrating the history of auto racing in Florida,” said Secretary of State Ken Detzner. “We are excited to offer our community this unique opportunity to view the race on a large screen and to learn about the history of auto racing in Florida.”
Free games include oversized checkers, giant tumble tower game, bean bag toss and two remote controlled race tracks. Food trucks and Tri-Eagle Sales will be on-site with food and drinks available for purchase. Special cars will also be on display from Cruisin’ Corvettes of Tallahassee.
The event, games, and race are free. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to enjoy a great evening of fun!
