Artist's Statement
Diane Damon has been drawing and sketching since she was three years old. She studied art at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, with an emphasis on charcoal and pastels. She discovered watercolor in 1990, which proved to be a catalyst for her work. She is a member of the Leesburg Art Association and the Eustis Art League.
"When one begins painting, things become more apparent – colors and their gradations, textures, endless variations of nature, everything from blazing, screaming sunsets to subtle, misty, foggy mornings,” says Damon. “They touch my innermost being and I long to capture that delight on paper."
