Boogie Knight

U.S. Army, 1968 – 1971

Boogie Knight, born in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1947, discovered his passion for aviation as a teenager. After attending Staunton Military Academy, he joined the Army to pursue helicopter flying. Boogie completed rigorous flight training and became a Cobra helicopter pilot, serving notably in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 with the 9th Infantry Division and later with D Troop, 3/5th Cavalry. His service was marked by intense combat missions, significant camaraderie, and profound loss. Post-service, Boogie transitioned into horse training, a lifelong passion, and continued flying recreationally. Today, he resides in St. George Island, Florida, actively engaged with local veteran communities.
