Juan Dueñas

U.S. Army, 1976 – 1978, U. Air Force, 1978 – 2007

Juan Dueñas began his military career with the U.S. Army in 1976, training as a Military Police officer at Fort McClellan. Seeking broader opportunities, he transferred to the Air Force Reserve in 1978, joining a new Security Forces unit at Homestead Air Force Base. His Air Force career involved extensive international assignments, traveling to 29 countries including Germany, Kuwait, and Nicaragua. Dueñas served in critical force protection and security roles, notably post-9/11, when he was activated and assigned to MacDill Air Force Base, overseeing security operations for CENTCOM. Concurrently, he built a significant civilian career with Florida's Department of Corrections, serving 29 years. Dueñas’ military service, marked by leadership in both Army and Air Force roles, reflects dedication to duty, global operational experience, and substantial contributions to military law enforcement and security. Since retiring, Dueñas has remained active in his local community and veteran organizations, continuing to advocate for service members and educate others on national security.
