State of Florida Archaeological Collections
The Collections staff manages over half a million artifacts ranging from tiny chevron beads to full size 16th-century cannons. These artifacts are housed at facilities located on the grounds of Mission San Luis in Tallahassee, while others are on loan to numerous museums and researchers across the country. The Collection represents over 12,000 years of human occupation in Florida and includes artifacts from Paleoindian sites through 20th-century sites. A limited number of small group tours are given upon request each year. For more information, call 850.245.6444 or email [email protected].
