Digital Learning
The Grove Museum, Knott House Museum, Mission San Luis, Museum of Florida History, Florida Memory, Florida Folklife Program and others help students and educators discover how Florida’s people interacted with each other and the environment throughout the state’s development. Each offer a variety of digital learning resources including educational materials, prerecorded tours, and live-stream virtual programs to explore pivotal moments in Florida’s history. Many of these programs meet Florida Social Studies Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and offer downloadable lesson plans and resource materials.
The Grove Museum
The Grove Museum is excited to provide engaging and relevant virtual learning experiences for teachers and students. Museum staff offers facilitated dialogues using primary sources, virtual tours of the site, and can prepare resources for your classroom on a variety of historical topics, with a focus on the history of slavery and civil rights in Florida.

Knott House Museum
The Knott House Museum offers recorded video tours and programs online that explore the history of the Knott House and early twentieth-century Tallahassee. These short videos allow students to see historical Tallahassee, explore life in the 1930s, and create fun crafts. Additional videos examine the emancipation of enslaved persons in Florida and the subsequent contributions and experiences of Africans Americans at the Knott House and in the state.

Mission San Luis
Florida’s Apalachee-Spanish Living History Museum’s virtual lessons and programs transport visitors back to Mission San Luis, a 17th-century La Florida community, where Apalachee Indians and Spaniards lived and worked together. Students can watch videos with museum educators sharing stories of the village’s inhabitants and providing lessons detailing the rich history of this diverse community. Video lessons are complete with crafts and other activities. Learn about Florida’s fascinating multi-cultural past and experience the significance of Tallahassee’s only National Historic Landmark, Mission San Luis.

Museum of Florida History
Exhibits at the Museum explore more than 12,000 years of Florida history. Students are now able to experience these exhibits from their K-12 classroom through one of our digital programs. These programs feature educator-led tours streamed live, allowing students to interact with the educator virtually. The Museum offers the following digital programs: Museum Spotlight Tour, Survival Florida, and My Symbols, My State, My Florida.

Florida Memory
The Florida Memory classroom is designed to help educators incorporate primary and secondary sources from the State Archives and State Library into their classrooms. Learning units and primary source sets use historical photographs, documents, audio recordings and videos to support educators as they teach their students about topics from Florida’s history. Each learning unit and primary source set includes a teacher's guide containing historical context, teaching suggestions and relevant NGSSS and Florida Standards. Historical topics include Mary McLeod Bethune, the Tallahassee Bus Boycott, the Equal Rights Amendment, the Florida Seminoles and more.
