Keenen Vernon
Keenen Vernon currently serves as the Legislative Affairs Director at the Florida Department of the Lottery. He previously held roles within the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Legislature. In his current capacity, Keenen oversees all policy and legislative matters impacting the Lottery, collaborating closely with the Secretary and Chief of Staff to develop new initiatives that optimize departmental resources to achieve strategic objectives. Prior to his tenure in Florida politics, Keenen demonstrated exceptional leadership as a student at the University of Florida, where he held prominent positions in student government and various university presidential committees. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from UF. A native of Broward County, Keenen is deeply committed to serving his community and advocating for robust education policies that benefit all students within the public education system. Recently recognized as a Florida Politics’ 30 Under 30 Rising Star, Keenen continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of education in the State of Florida.
